“After Meta broke ground on a $750 million data center on the edge of Newton County, Ga., the water taps in Beverly and Jeff Morris’s home went dry.
The couple’s house, which uses well water, is 1,000 feet from Meta’s new data center. Months after construction began in 2018, the Morrises’ dishwasher, ice maker, washing machine and toilet all stopped working, said Beverly Morris, now 71. Within a year, the water pressure had slowed to a trickle. Soon, nothing came out of the bathroom and kitchen taps.

A data center like Meta’s, which was completed last year, typically guzzles around 500,000 gallons of water a day. New data centers built to train more powerful A.I. are set to be even thirstier, requiring millions of gallons of water a day, according to water permit applications reviewed by The New York Times.

Some projects are so large that they require the land to first be “dewatered,” which is when groundwater is pumped out of the surrounding area in preparation for construction.”
We’ve been having the same issue all over Quebec. People who rely on wells have to dig ever deeper only to find out there is no underground water left anywhere. Big Tech is currently building data centers in Quebec which explains why the water is missing. It is interesting that nobody informed us about the “dewatering” process.
Counties across Quebec have been importing water with cistern trucks.
it doesn’t mean it is over, I saw that they have a clause where, when they withdraw voluntarily (due to public opposition) Google can return in 3 months and secretly build the rejected project behind everyone’s back. It happened in Minneapolis.
If we have learned anything from the pro-Palestine protests is that the only way to stop a genocide in the making is for everyone to become as insistent and obnoxious as possible for as long as possible. The time has come to pull out the tents and occupy ALL campuses and city halls everywhere at once. I am open to street prayers and blocked traffic for this one. These are not normal times.
What a riveting dark film. Good News is a Korean fictionalized satire inspired by the real 1970 hijacking of a Japanese passenger plane by members of the Red Army Faction, who demanded to be flown to Pyongyang.
More links on how AI data centers are designed in such a way as to be as non-transparent as possible, to gobble hundreds of billions of gallons of drinking water per year, to destroy certain communities drinking water sources forever, while pretending to “replenish” water elsewhere, so basically sacrificing entire communities without prior consultation. We can see the pattern of “fait accompli” (when you learn about it, it is too late) modus operandi.
The projected genocide of the North American population is clearly the intent here. Texas seems to be exactly as corrupt as Quebec in the sense that the state doesn’t allow municipalities to track how much drinking water data centers are using. The problem is notorious while Big Tech is clearly doubling down on bringing these same perfectly unsustainable data centers to Canada and governments are on board.
Human being’s extinction is all but guaranteed. All life will disappear from Earth thanks to Big Tech. I give us another couple of years of life. There is no point of doing anything else than just enjoy the last days we have. Empty your wallets, max your cards, stop paying mortgage and rent, stop working, stop complying, go on vacation where water still exists.
All summer I’ve been sounding the alarm at extreme unusual drought that has gripped Quebec and Ontario, even the Arctic!!!! If you peruse my OFFSCREEN category you will see a collection of apocalyptic footage. Extreme drought, all trees roots uncovered, fallen trees everywhere, mini-deserts forming around water bodies, and disappearing water levels. Our country has been besieged by American Big Tech corporations siphoning all our water and intending to leave us for dead.
This is colonization and genocide 2.0.
We are currently facing full-blown extinction of all flora, fauna, and human life throughout Canada due to Big Tech Firms’ secret contracts with our corrupt government to destroy all our water resources over the next couple of years through data centers the public was never informed about.
These data centers are using our drinking water and will result in a (clearly intended) genocide of the local population before 2030.
We didn’t know until now that Microsoft had bought this much land (behind the public’s back) to build data centers in Quebec, but we already see the results.
We didn’t know until now that Amazon had bought this much land in Ontario to siphon all our water, but we already see the results.
CBC finally dared to report on the fact that Big Tech is intimidating journalists and activists who dare oppose the data centers’ operating without any oversight.
CBC also confirms that Microsoft and Amazon have been consistently lying about their water usage which (if you install a water counter, something lacking all over Quebec) amounts to over a 4th of municipal water usage.
Now it is clear who is stealing municipal water, but if you talk you will be destroyed by Big Tech.
People who send access to information letters are being systematically silenced. Frivolous lawsuits and Strategic Lawsuits Against Public Participation get routinely filed by Big Tech’s lawyers to silence and neutralize concerned citizens, only so Big Tech can continue claiming that there was no opposition.
There is opposition but the opposition is not allowed to say a word in this country.
Canada is compromised.
We’re all about to die over the next couple of years, and now it’s clear that we will die fighting these motherfuckers!
Honestly, we have nothing left to lose, since without water life is not viable anyway. We won’t need to file for medically assisted suicide, because we will die anyway in these water wars (if you’re looking for a silver lining, that’s the only one).
Here is CBC’s extremely shy attempt at throwing light at this issue, but still only scratching the surface (likely because they are afraid to be persecuted by BigTech’s lawyers and due to refusal by Big Tech to reply to access to information requests, proving that they have no respect for the law in Canada). https://www.cbc.ca/news/ai-data-centre-canada-water-use-9.6939684

For those who think they want to have children: you’re total idiots. I don’t understand parental instinct. I have zero such instinct. It is a fake construct, because the goal on Earth is death, not life. This is hell and once you figure it out, you start making better decisions for yourself.
The facts are that nobody consented to be born and nobody consented to be wiped out by Big Tech, but it is the situation. Our existence is non-consensual therefore it was never meant to be sustainable. Don’t worry, we’re getting out of here soon.
I changed 4 times to test the colours on this, because I am highly sceptical of front cameras. This one did ok, but it doesn’t allow to film in ultra-wide so the image can feel claustrophobic in small spaces.
Beware that if you need this device as a phone, it only comes with eSim which makes it highly non-versatile for travel as most countries on this planet use physical sims, so you will need to buy another device for travel, or keep your older device. I got this one because it came highly recommended as a camera with significant upgrades from the 16pro. I wasn’t intending to use it as a phone.
You may think there is a river that connects the Great Lakes to the Atlantic. Well, that is no longer the case, because it was decided in Cornwall that all water from the lakes that usually flows into the River will be redirected to the USA!
I literally am just learning today that there is a US-Canadian group in Cornwall that decides who is getting water from Ontario lake and who isn’t. Wow.
That’s why the Saint-Lawrence River no longer exists as we know it and there are tomatoes plantations naturally appearing in the middle of the river bed in Montreal where the water used to be due to sewage water drying up as well and, look at that, it fuels crazy growth of new little toxic species, and new ecosystems from hell in places where used to be water.
I’ve been looking at new land all summer all over the Laurentians. All the lakes are dead. Many riverbeds look like sand deserts.
And so on October 18, this same authority will EXCEPTIONALLY allow some water to flow into the river to unblock the gazillion boats that are stuck in the mud. What a bunch of egregious assholes.
PS: now you know why we need to put the nuclear reactors on the Moon. Bécancour is literally where the reactors are supposed to go and there is like zero water right now. Can I make a prediction about the Moon. Yeah, my eye
